
Metro Vancouver region facing potential wave of development fee increases
Metro Vancouver is proposing a significant increase in development cost charges (DCCs) on single-family homes and townhomes over the next three years. This increase would start in 2025 and would be an increase of 240% for single-family homes and 256% for townhomes. The DCCs are collected by Metro Vancouver and are used to fund new liquid waste and water infrastructure. These increases have already caused the postponement of a federal housing initiative meant to provide financial incentives to local governments to increase housing supply.
